Welcome to CHICA-SASKPIC!
SASKPIC provides a forum for networking, education and collaboration. We also provide educational funding related to infection prevention and control for our members. Our chapter currently has over 85 members - 17 with CIC designation, including:
- Persons employed or interested in infection prevention and control, such as physicians, managers, lab techs, nurses, public health inspectors etc.
- Industry representatives.
New members are encouraged to join. If you are interested, please contact any of the Chapter Executive listed on the 'Quick Index' menu of our website.
New to the SASKPIC website this year is the Provincial Infection Control Network of Saskatchewan (PICNS) menu. Provincial guidelines and protocols, such as the "Guidelines for the Management of Clostridium difficile Infections (CDI) in all Health Care Settings" can be accessed here, as well as meeting notes and local education opportunities. We encourage everyone to take advantage of these resources!
The CHICA 2013 national education conference will be held in the nation's capital, Ottawa, Ontario from June 1-5, 2013. For those able to attend, the conference aims to provide cutting edge knowledge, information and tools from national and international sources, to promote awareness of new approaches, new technologies and innovative concepts and products, as well as to support growth in leadership, education and communication skills.
The CHICA-SASKPIC fall Infection Prevention and Control Conference will be held on September 20th, 2013 at The Western Development Museum in Saskatoon, SK. The one-day conference and meeting is open to all those interested in networking, promoting good infection prevention and control practices in our daily activities and making safety a priority! We hope to see you there!
