I'm Not the ICP, But Sometimes They Make Me Do It: Boot Camp for Infection Control

Learning Objectives:
On completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify the 'must have' information and contacts they need regarding infection control
- Detect and manage common/frequently encountered infection control challenges (e.g. routine practices and additional precautions, patient/resident/client placement, pregnant health care workers) as they arise, as well as sentinel events and emergencies (e.g. outbreaks and floods).
Who Should Attend:
Healthcare workers who seek a basic understanding of key infection prevention and control concepts, links, and tools. This includes healthcare providers in:
- Hospitals (e.g. hospital coordinators with after-hours responsibilities, staff and managers in inpatient, outpatient, emergency and clinic departments)
- Non-acute settings (leaders and direct care providers in rehab and complex continuing care, long-term care, medical offices and community settings)
- Any others who would like a concise overview of the essentials of infection prevention and control and their application, to increase their comfort with their IP&C role.
