Welcome to CHICA Manitoba's website!
My name is Betty Taylor and I am currently employed with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as manager of the Personal Care Home Infection, Prevention, and Control Program. I look forward to working with the executive and members of the Manitoba chapter in 2008 as president of CHICA-Manitoba. There is a wealth of information out there and I look forward to growing with each person on the team as we bounce and implement new ideas. I hope to support the chapter as we encourage more membership within the chapter. I am also excited to work with other chapters to find out what they are doing and to sharing information creating a fluid communication throughout the country, within our organization.
Our chapter is committed to the health of Manitobans by improving, promoting,
and supporting Infection Control Professionals that work in hospitals, long-term
care, and communities around the province. This is achieved by combining
knowledge of microbiology and infectious diseases with evidence based practice
and epidemiology. Our chapter members provide direction, education and expert
knowledge on infection prevention and control issues.
