A Message from the President of CHICA-Canada
PRESIDENT'S WELCOMEThe Community and Hospital Infection Control Association (CHICA–Canada) is a national, multidisciplinary, voluntary association of professionals. CHICA–Canada is committed to improving the health of Canadians by promoting excellence in the practice of infection prevention and control. This is done by combining knowledge of microbiology and infectious diseases with evidence based practice and epidemiology.
Infection control professionals work in hospitals, long term care centers, and community health agencies. They provide expert knowledge, direction and education in infection prevention and control issues. They participate in research, standard development and quality improvement activities to improve health outcomes for Canadians.
