  • Moira Walker Memorial Award for International Service: This Award honors an individual or group that has demonstrated extraordinary efforts to bring about change or improvement related to infection prevention and control in parts of the world that are under developed or under-resourced. The annual award is in honour of Moira Walker RN CIC, a Past President of CHICA-Canada and Past Honourary Secretary of the International Federation of Infection Control.   • Practice Recommendations for Toys: Il nous fait plaisir d'annoncer que la Toys Practice Review de CHICA-Canada vient d'être affichée à www.chica.org. Le but de cette revue des pratiques est d'offrir des recommandations relatives à la prévention des infections pour assurer que les patients, sœurs et frères et familles ont accès au matériel de jeu et aux jouets propres et sécuritaires. Le document est en cours de traduction et la version française sera disponible dès que possible. CHICA-Canada remercie sincèrement le Groupe d'intérêt de la pédiatrie et le Comité des normes et des guides pour leurs délibérations minutieuses qui ont mené à ce document attendu depuis longtemps.

    We are pleased to announce that the CHICA-Canada Toys Practice Review has now been posted to www.chica.org. The purpose of this practice review is to provide infection control recommendations to ensure that patients, siblings, and families have access to clean and safe play equipment and toys. The document is currently in translation and the French document will be available as soon as possible. CHICA-Canada sincerely thanks the Pediatrics Interest Group and the Standards & Guidelines Committee for their diligent deliberation that has resulted in this long-awaited document.
